Patience is not simply the ability to wait- it's how we behave while we're waiting.

Saumya and ravi are two friend working on a project for old age people, more particularly on gentrification and urban morphological character. For the same Saumya called ravi for a meeting to discuss about the outline of project, but herself came late in the meeting. Knowingly of the consequences-that she has to face "ravi's anger "she came to the pre determined place with all sorts of plausible explanation but to her surprise ravi was playing with the street children and was filled with glee. This shows patience if filled with love and care, can make the surrounding more livable. 

 

Patience is test which bring the moral commitment of a person whether he can face the vagaries of the life or not , and while facing whether he makes his surrounding miserable or lovable. Some men bring forth the negative outlook to the fore and others bring positive character of their thought. For eg. V.D.Savarkar wrote book while facing the extreme difficulty of cellural jail, their easily his patience could have weaned away but he knew to mark his name in the anals of history he has to not just face it but to bring his entire vision their. Similarly all other freedom fighter while keeping patience for freedom, could have easily paved way to negative insinuation of communalism but they didn't and made India an embodiment of democracy and secularism. 

Now behaviour is what makes the men and as per old testament- what men is a men who does not make his world better . Two strands in the politics are classic case to study behavious patter in the politics while keeping patience. First is communism- they keep patience and keep fighting gurrilla war fare against the republic to bring change  but on other hand the democratic socialist took up the streets for these systematic change by getting writhing the system.

Even geography tells us what it is to keep patience. Ants keep on cleaning the litters from the floor had they not kept patience and if they would have taken a day off, the entire ecological system will come to halt. The patience and deeds done in the vagaries of time show what is the true character of a men, one can choose to linger on till he archive his goal and can fight till the end, because that would be his character. 

As what geeta said - be a fighter even while waiting every moment we all have to take decision and fighter (कर्ता of कर्म) always choose to fight. And Ram dhari singh Dinkar rightly said-

(क्या हार में क्या जीत में, किंचित नहीं भयभीत में ,

कर्तव्य पथ पर जो मिला,यह भी सही वह भी सही ,

वरदान माँगूँगा नहीं ,वरदान माँगूँगा नहीं)

If seen through the prism of international relation, every decision takes very caliberated and flawless moves. Now if while waiting diplomat not behave in a manner deem fit for principle of reciprocity, it may hamper decision and can go against the national interest, as seen in 1962 when Nehru while waiting for Chinese response in border dispute adopted the forward block policy and suddenly faced 1962 war.

Army men while patiently, consciously waiting for the enemy move can either always prepare themself for the worst of the worst case and build themself so that the actually moral of entire force may go up or may have a lackadaisical approach and may embolden the enemy at first place. Thus constantly working and choosing to be upright in attitude , values and work culture bring the moral conviction and will always have upper hand in psychological warfare.

Governance in democracy is all about patiently working towards the welfare of people even in the midst of all sorts of noices , protest etc . If not dealt with caliberated patience ,the patience  itself can be contrued as inaction and may further aggravate the situation just like what happened in mandsaur agrarian unrest. Even while keeping patience it must be dynamic in nature not static, thus must always have tendency of constant negotiation just like a tug of war. So that all the elements of governance check each other. And activity while keeping patience bring forth the best of what is required for the society.

Similarly in justice system their could be a possibility of delaying of justice, in such system patience is a utmost warranted because in midst of such quagmire, the perceptible injustice may breed terrorism or  it may lead may add another feather to सत्य मेव जयते ( truth always triumph ).

In second scenario it will increase the institutional credibility , and in first instance it mah lower down the authority of constitution itself.

In Afghanistan war, a case was widely reported that snipers of the US marines in midst of mission killed the innocent just because they were impatient. And even while waiting in their next missions they made video and passed verbal aspersion against the religion. This had a very wide impact of loss of credibility of US forces in entire Islamic realm. 

So out behaviour not just are the expression of ourself but all the cultural baggage we take with us. Thus its very imp that we should not pave in to the negative attitude we have in us,

but should always trie to rediscover ourself.

Gandhiji found his truth while patiently evaluating his behaviour again and again. And always holding  truth and other virtues supreme over all the lure of power, prestige, and that is why he became MAHATMA. Even the peace of present and future depend upon the the action done while we wait. Truemen bombed hiroshima , nagasaki with nuclear bomb even while world was waiting for surrender which was  truly inevitable, but showdown of power killed almost one lakh people instantaneously. 

Nelson Mandela while keeping patience against the apartheid govt. didnt allowed the anti White attack and that is why his behaviour were aligned with the actual want of truth and reconciliation commission, thus how a deeply divided society was able to live thus action of one Man casted a shadow which not just remained confined in the south Africa or Africa per se but over entire world. 

Steve jobs was thrown out of his own company which he build, the products of which he created. And guess that patience can not be faced by all but he did and his zeal to build new and better then the previous one lead him to creat iPhone, and thus lead to subsequent improvements in smart phone  which not just changed the entire picture of smart phones typology but brought technology in the reach of all. 

Thus Steve jobs became what he is , that is why true character are shown when we are in difficult situation. 

One can face it with huge hue and cry or one can just cherish the most beautiful thing that is which is- that is life.

A man can pave way to devil or become God, when he is tested and patience is one of such test, greater the test is the reward. But the problem in above dictum is that it is attached to one more axiom- behaviour of a person while giving his test is also evaluative. Thus every one has possibility  of scoring high marks just like ravi did in the Saumya' heart.
