Dowry
Today, while reading news I got to see one data from NCRB (National Crime Record Bureau) that every hour there is one dowry death taking place in India. Inspite of the fact that as per section 498A of IPC, it is cognizable and non bailable offence. In the same league I remember one converation with very good friend of mine, working as DSP in MP police. She said and I quote “even her batchmates in police says they will not dither from dowry”. Such is the sorry state of affair that “those who must protect the Law have clear conception that they will break the Law”.
Apart from aspect of law, we as a society have failed to upkeep our moral values. At a familial aspect think what a relation it would be which is strating with the notion of money. I remember what my Naniji always says “money is the most fluid thing in this world, more fluid than air and water”. We want to make the citadel of family and want to show the parapit (rising and shining) to the world but we are making its foundation which is fluid. So, will that citadel last for ever ? Answer is NO!.

Same goes with those marriage sites where matches are made based on monetary equivalencies .As a society we are failing our daughters and also as a Man we are failing our self respect. Only families indulge in aggravated hedonistic activities will demand dowry and more so justify this thing. One must always remember “Value your values and values will value you”.
